Basketball Recap: Dyersburg Takes a Loss

Dyersburg suffered their closest loss since December 10, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Munford Cougars by a score of 65-63. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

JaDyn Lee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Munford, shooting 57% from the field on his way to 31 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Lee is becoming a predictor of Munford's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 20-7 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Courtnry Chaffin was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Dyersburg and nudges their season record down to 15-13. As for Munford, they pushed their record up to 21-10 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Dyersburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Munford will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greeneville at 11:00 a.m. on March 20th. One thing working in Greeneville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.
