Softball Recap: Capital Beats Flathead for Their Fifth Straight Win

While Capital's win against Flathead wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bruins won by a run and slipped past the Braves/Bravettes 11-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bruins considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Madi Emmert, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Kate Drynan was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Capital kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Capital, bringing their record up to 7-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Flathead, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Capital wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-0 defeat against Glacier on the 3rd. As for Flathead, they have also already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Helena on the 3rd.
