2A-1 Region IV District 13 recap November 5, 2013

Troy scaled the state rankings by moving to 251 from 309 this week, the biggest jump in 2A-1 Region IV District 13. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of beating Little River Academy 43-19.

Lago Vista added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Salado, 48-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Cameron Yoe's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jason Kopriva threw for 82 and 4 touchdowns and Colton Shuffield had 38 yards receiving. On the ground Traion Smith chipped in 102 yards. Aaron Sims helped Cameron Yoe's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 20 yards.

The Yoemen's dynamic duo of Kopriva and Shuffield proved to be unstoppable against Marlin, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sims helped Cameron Yoe's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 20 yards.

Smith provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Cameron Yoe beat the Bulldogs. Smith's key target this week was Shuffield, who caught 3 passes for 38 yards.

He went 7-14 with 0 interceptions.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Eagles' McLane Carter and Kase Spears have proven to be a lethal combination. Carter has thrown for 2,476 yards this season, while Spears has 58 catches for 901 yards. Smith from Rick Rhoades' team leads the league in rushing with 1,392 yards.

Entering into this week's contest against Florence, Kopriva is short just 161 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. So far this year, Kopriva has thrown for 1,839 yards with 30 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

Salado's Spears is only 99 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the McGregor. He has recorded 58 catches for 901 yards this year.

A big matchup in 2A-1 Region IV District 13 this week will be when Troy takes on Marlin. Jay Seibert's team is currently in third, while Bennie Hulitt's team is in fifth.

Brent Graham's team lost to Lago Vista 48-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ryan Simmons ran for 69 yards in the defeat.
