Basketball Game Preview: St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions vs. North Springs Spartans

The St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions will head out on the road to challenge the North Springs Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in St. Pius X Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matchups.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for St. Pius X Catholic against Northview as the team secured a 79-42 win. The Golden Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, North Springs played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 71-48 to Southwest DeKalb. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Panthers are ranked 22nd).

St. Pius X Catholic pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.2 points. As for North Springs, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-12.

St. Pius X Catholic strolled past North Springs when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 64-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Pius X Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
