Volleyball Recap: Cypress Takes a Loss

If Cypress was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sonora last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Centurions fell just short of the Sunny Hills Lancers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Centurions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Cypress took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-22, 24-26, 29-27, 15-9.

Cypress' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-9. As for Sunny Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.

Coincidentally, Cypress and Sunny Hills will both be playing Canyon the next time they take the court. The Lancers will host the Comanches at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Centurions will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
