Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Avon

Avon waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. While the Pirates didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Avon's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, they moved to 7-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Avon has already played their next contest, a 4-3 win against Viborg/Hurley on the 3rd. As for Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-3 defeat against Gayville-Volin on the 3rd.
