Recap: Turlock Christian Eagles vs. Venture Academy Mustangs
The Turlock Christian Eagles won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Venture Academy, falling 111-55. Turlock Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-30.
Turlock Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Parker Watson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Winston York was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Turlock Christian were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Venture Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mario Williams, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Marcos Rosales, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Turlock Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Venture Academy, their win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-3.
Turlock Christian's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Big Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Big Valley Christian will be up against Turlock Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.95 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing. As for Venture Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Stone Ridge Christian at 7:00 p.m. Stone Ridge Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
