Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Arizona Lutheran Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Phoenix Country Day.

Isaiah Adriano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Rafael Guerrero, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Arizona Lutheran Academy now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Santa Cruz Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
