Softball Recap: West Hills Wolf Pack vs. Steele Canyon Cougars
West Hills dropped their record down to 13-8-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Steele Canyon Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in April.
Kristina Deal was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Katy Spargo, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
As for Steele Canyon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-11-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games.
On Steele Canyon's side, Belle Will spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Isabella Azevedo was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Trujillo, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
