Basketball Game Preview: Druid Hills Red Devils vs. St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions

The Druid Hills Red Devils will take on the St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Druid Hills will head into Tuesday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 56-20 loss at the hands of Southwest DeKalb. The contest marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, St. Pius X Catholic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They breezed by the Angoras to the tune of 85-21. The Golden Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Druid Hills dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
