Baseball Recap: Stillman Valley Comes Up Short

Dixon hit Stillman Valley with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cardinals fell just short of the Dukes & Duchesses by a score of 7-5. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dukes & Duchesses apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cale Kleinschmidt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Stillman Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Dixon, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

While Stillman Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
