Basketball Recap: Eden Raiders vs. Holland Dutchmen
The Eden Raiders waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Holland and snuck past 55-53. Given Eden's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Dutchmen are ranked 596th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Taesyn Slating, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Wakelam, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Eden has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Holland, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eden is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Gowanda is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Holland, they will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
