Friday just wasn't the day for Carrabec's offense. They fell just short of Telstar by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The Cobras' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Carrabec saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Caldwell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Richmond put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over Traip. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Brady Alexander made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Alexander was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kenny Mecham was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Rhys Terry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Richmond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.
Richmond pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Carrabec, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Carrabec has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Richmond struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
