Baseball Recap: Whittier Takes a Loss

Whittier lost against Buena Park back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Whittier took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buena Park. The Cardinals just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Whittier got a good showing from Noah Sandoval, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Sandoval has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Whittier saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derrick Monreal, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Monreal has posted since back in March of 2024.

Whittier's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Buena Park, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Whittier wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Montclair on the 25th. As for Buena Park, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-0 defeat against Segerstrom on the 25th.
