Baseball Recap: Williams' Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Williams was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Clover Garden School last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Williams Bulldogs lost 12-2 to the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but the Fighting Red Wolves' pitchers proved too tough.

Williams' loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Cedar Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williams will square off against Cedar Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedar Ridge, they will face off against Chapel Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
