Softball Game Preview: Goodwin RVT Gladiators vs. Cheney Tech Beavers

The Goodwin RVT Gladiators will challenge the Cheney Tech Beavers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Goodwin RVT is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Academy of International Studies with a sharp 23-11 win on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Gladiators as they're now sitting on three straight.

Cheney Tech not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2025 (when they won 30-4). They were the clear victors by a 17-8 margin over Academy of Aerospace and Engineering.

Ai'Lani Alvelo and Ella Moskites did most of the damage at the plate: Alvelo went 3-for-5 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three RBI, while Moskites went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. With that strong performance, Moskites is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Kelly, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cheney Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.

Goodwin RVT's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Cheney Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Everything went Goodwin RVT's way against Cheney Tech in their previous meeting back in April, as Goodwin RVT made off with a 16-7 win. Will the Gladiators repeat their success, or do the Beavers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
