The Sweetwater Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Colorado Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Sweetwater's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Grape Creek as they made off with an 18-0 victory. The Mustangs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 1st.
Kallie Scherwitz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Colorado waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 17-1 win. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.
Like Sweetwater, Colorado also got a great game from a two-way player: Mia Obenhaus. She struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Obenhaus has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Colorado let Bryanna Munoz and Aj Goodney run wild. Munoz fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4, while Goodney went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexis Martinez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Colorado hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.
Colorado's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-7-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sweetwater, their record now sits at 10-13-1.
