Soccer Game Preview: Berkmar vs. Lanier

Berkmar is 0-3 against Lanier since February of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Patriots will square off against the Longhorns at 5:30 p.m. Berkmar has given up an average of 4.2 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Berkmar is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game last Thursday. They lost 10-0 to North Gwinnett. While losing is never fun, Berkmar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while North Gwinnett are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Lanier waltzed into their game last Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Bears get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Give Lanier's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Yadira Otero Guerrero and Miley Ramos scored both of Lanier's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Lanier's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Berkmar, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
