Football Recap: Summertown's Rushing Attack Does It Again + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lawrence County, Summertown was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Wayne County Wildcats 16-14. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Among those leading the charge was Max Dillard, who rushed for 101 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. Those 101 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Summertown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 293 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.

Summertown didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brad Hoffman and McKaleb Powell.

The victory got Summertown back to even at 1-1. As for Wayne County, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, Summertown will take on Cascade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wayne County, they will challenge McNairy Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
