Baseball Game Preview: Tate Aggies vs. Fletcher Senators

For the second straight game, Tate will face off against Fletcher. The Aggies will take on the Senators at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tate is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Tate heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They came up short against Fletcher, falling 8-0.

For Fletcher's part, Nick Oliviera made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Oliviera has posted since back in February. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jakeb McDougall, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Kolby Batten was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Fletcher lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Tate has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season. As for Fletcher, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tate has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fletcher struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts.
