Basketball Recap: Russell's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Russell put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 63-45 victory over the Montgomery County Indians.

Russell got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryder Burgess out in front who shot 50% from the field to rack up 21 points. Burgess has also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 46% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Cordial, who went 8-for-13 en route to 17 points and eight boards.

Russell's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Montgomery County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Russell will take on Corbin in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Montgomery County, they will be home for the holidays to greet Bourbon County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will be up against the Colonels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
