Recap: Sylmar Spartans vs. Van Nuys Wolves

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cleveland, the Sylmar Spartans were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They blew past Van Nuys 76-53. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sylmar also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Leading Sylmar to victory were Nathan Lee and Joseph Dickson, Jr. Lee scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Dickson, Jr scored 21 points along with seven steals and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dickson, Jr has scored at least 25% of Sylmar's points. Gustavo Lopez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Sylmar's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-12. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points per game. As for Van Nuys, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Sylmar will head out on the road to face off against Canoga Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Van Nuys, they will be playing at home against Panorama at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Panorama is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
