St. James Academy hadn't done well against Saint Thomas Aquinas recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The St. James Academy Thunder secured a 54-48 W over the Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints. Winning may never get old, but the Thunder sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

St. James Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Regan Becker led the charge by going 5-for-10 en route to 14 points and eight boards. Becker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Elle Robinson, who went 5-for-6 on her way to 12 points and three steals.

St. James Academy pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points over those games. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

Coming up, St. James Academy will welcome Blue Valley North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Blue Valley North's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, they are taking a road trip to square off against Blue Valley Southwest at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Valley Southwest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
