Basketball Recap: Kim/Branson Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Kim/Branson can now relate to. They fell 49-42 to the Cheyenne Wells Tigers on Thursday. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Kolter Cranson and Cameron Rosas certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Cranson posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Rosas had nine points and four steals. Rosas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last five games he's played.

It was another big night for Corey Hill, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 11 boards for Cheyenne Wells. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Hyle, who put up four points.

Kim/Branson's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Cheyenne Wells, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Kim/Branson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-58 defeat against Otis on the 14th. As for Cheyenne Wells, they have also already played their next matchup, a 48-39 loss against Flatirons Academy on the 14th.
