Baseball Recap: Coral Springs Charter Takes a Loss

After flying high against Deerfield Beach last Tuesday, Coral Springs Charter came back down to earth. Coral Springs Charter fell just short of the Spanish River Sharks by a score of 10-8 on Thursday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Julian Spinola was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Anton Fournier also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Coral Springs Charter's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Spanish River, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. As for Spanish River, they will take on Dwyer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spanish River's pitchers better be ready for this one: Dwyer has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
