Volleyball Recap: Caldwell Cougars vs. Vallivue Falcons
Caldwell had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-13 to make it five. They came up short against the Vallivue Falcons, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.
Kloe Fogle paced Caldwell's offense, picking up five kills. Fogle got some help from Maryn MacDonald and her 15 assists. Bristol Runnels controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
As for Vallivue, their win ended a nine-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-17. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.
Vallivue was led to victory by Sophia Kassotis and Avery Daniel. Kassotis had 11 digs and three aces, while Daniel had four digs and two aces. Daniel has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Caldwell will challenge rival Nampa at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Vallivue is set to face off against their familiar foe Middleton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
