Softball Recap: Mary Star of the Sea Takes a Loss

Mary Star of the Sea came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the St. Monica Mariners, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mariners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-10 back in March.

Mary Star of the Sea dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for St. Monica, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7.

Mary Star of the Sea and St. Monica will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Stars see the field they'll take on Bishop Conaty-Loretto at 3:15 p.m. on the 28th. As for St. Monica, their break will end when they face Bishop Montgomery at 3:00 p.m. on the 29th.
