Softball Recap: Bronson Eagles vs. Union County Fightin' Tigers
Bronson lost against Union County back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles lost 10-3 to the Fightin' Tigers.
Tegan Barber and Brystal Howard did some serious damage despite the final result: Barber scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Howard scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Laila Smith also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Bronson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Union County, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5.
Looking ahead, Bronson will head out to challenge P.K. Yonge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Wave have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Union County, they will challenge Trinity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Conquerors will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Fightin' Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
