Baseball Preview: Mifflinburg Wildcats vs. Hughesville Spartans
The Mifflinburg Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Hughesville Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mifflinburg took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Selinsgrove, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Mifflinburg had just enough and edged out Selinsgrove 3-2 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted against the Seals since May 4, 2018.
Mifflinburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Schneck, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Hughesville put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over South Williamsport. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their two-run performance the match before.
