Volleyball Recap: Huntington Comes Up Short

Huntington came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Southeastern Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Huntsmen have suffered since October 12, 2024.

While Huntington was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Southeastern's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-21.

Lydia Black paced Huntington's offense, picking up nine kills. Black got some help from Leighton Keiser and her 11 assists. Black was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Huntington's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Southeastern, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Huntington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Westfall on the 28th. As for Southeastern, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Piketon on the 28th.
