Recap: Olentangy Braves vs. Thomas Worthington CARDINALS
The Olentangy Braves were the 70-65 winner over the Thomas Worthington CARDINALS when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Olentangy fell 62-54 to Thomas Worthington on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Olentangy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Thomas Worthington is ranked 331st).
Olentangy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ulysses Ponder, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Page, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Olentangy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Olentangy's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Thomas Worthington, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Olentangy will be playing in front of their home fans against Olentangy Liberty at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Olentangy Liberty's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Thomas Worthington, they will head out on the road to square off against Worthington Kilbourne at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
