Softball Game Preview: Conway Tigers vs. North Myrtle Beach Chiefs

Conway has gone 9-1 against North Myrtle Beach recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Conway Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Myrtle Beach Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. Conway's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so North Myrtle Beach's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Conway is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since March 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out North Myrtle Beach 3-2. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Benton Causey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brandy Smith and Meredith Thompson did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Thompson scored a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, Thompson posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

North Myrtle Beach is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. As for Conway, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
