Soccer Recap: Houston Takes a Loss

If Houston was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Kodiak on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks lost 11-0 to the Soldotna Stars on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for Houston in their meetings with Soldotna: they've now lost nine in a row.

Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-3. As for Soldotna, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Houston will square off against Redington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Houston will be up against Redington's rather soft defense (which has allowed 7.33 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Soldotna, they will welcome Kenai Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
