Community waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Richland Raiders. This was payback for Community, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Community got a massive performance out of Alana Tate, who went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Tate has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailani Allen, who went 3-for-3 with three runs, a triple, and a double.
Community's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs per game. As for Richland, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2.
Community didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-1 defeat vs. Zion Christian Academy on the 16th. As for Richland, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Hickman County at 6:00 p.m.
