Volleyball Recap: Fairfield's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Fairfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Carmi-White County Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The Mules were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Fairfield started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-21, 25-16.

Fairfield's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 16-6. As for Carmi-White County, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 25-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fairfield is set to face off against their familiar foe Edwards County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Carmi-White County will square off against rival Flora at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
