Old Rochester Regional faced Medfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bulldogs lost 3-0 to the Warriors. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Old Rochester Regional couldn't get the W, but boy did they fight for it: two sets took extra rallies. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-11, 27-25.

Sadie Hartley-Matteson paced Old Rochester Regional's offense, picking up nine kills. Hartley-Matteson got some help from Maya Morrison and her 21 assists. Erin Root and Lucy Lombard kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Old Rochester Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Medfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Old Rochester Regional will take on Greater New Bedford RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Medfield, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bellingham at 6:15 p.m. on the 20th.
