Recap: Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets vs. Nebraska Christian Eagles
If the Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets were feeling good off their 61-10 takedown of the St. Edward Beavers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Heartland Lutheran had to suffer through a rough 54-24 loss at the hands of Nebraska Christian. Having soared to a lofty 61 points in the game before, Heartland Lutheran couldn't push the score so high this time.
Heartland Lutheran's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brielle Saddler, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Ella Francl, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Heartland Lutheran has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Nebraska Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heartland Lutheran and Red Cloud will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Nebraska Christian, they will be playing at home against Heartland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
