Softball Recap: Tonopah Muckers vs. Round Mountain Knights
Tonopah extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 9-11 in the process. They came up short against the Round Mountain Knights, falling 16-2. That's two games in a row now that the Muckers have lost by exactly 14 runs.
As for Round Mountain, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by ten runs or more this season.
For Round Mountain's part, Ava Faga made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Faga has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, Round Mountain got a massive performance out of Hallee Larsen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Larsen has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Laycii Thibodeaux, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
