Baseball Recap: Germantown Find Success

While Germantown's win against Clinton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Germantown Mavericks had just enough and edged out the Clinton Arrows 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ty Ramage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Germantown is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Jackson Estes was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Brooks Hardy also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Germantown's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-8. As for Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Germantown will have a chance to go back-to-back against Clinton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
