Basketball Recap: East Hardy Comes Up Short

East Hardy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Moorefield Yellow Jackets. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Loss or not, East Hardy got some senior leadership from Chloe Miller and Brooklynn Tinnell. Miller went 5 of 8 en route to 24 points and eight boards, while Tinnell posted 15 points and five rebounds. Tinnell has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played.

East Hardy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Moorefield, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Hardy will face off against Frankfort at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Moorefield, they will head out to face off against Pendleton County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
