            Basketball Recap: Albemarle Bulldogs vs. Union Academy Cardinals        
        
		
        
        
            Albemarle was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They were  outmatched by the Union Academy Cardinals and fell  78-51. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  63-58  back in January.
  Everett Wease had an outrageously good game for Union Academy as he  went 7 of 13  on his way to 19  points and three  steals. That's the most points  Wease has posted since back in February of 2024.  Parker Frashier was another key player,  dropping  a double-double on ten  points and ten  boards.
Albemarle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Union Academy,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 11-6.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Albemarle will venture away from home to  challenge Mount Pleasant  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Mount Pleasant knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Albemarle likes a good challenge. As for Union Academy, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Gray Stone Day  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
