Basketball Recap: Racquela Jackson Key Part of a Team Effort in Yellow Jackets Win

Blake hadn't done well against Hillsborough recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Blake Yellow Jackets walked away with a 45-33 win over the Hillsborough Terriers. The team accrued 34 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Racquela Jackson, who went 5 of 12 en route to 16 points and five steals. Those 16 points gave Jackson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriell Duberry, who posted seven points and five steals.

Hillsborough's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaylesia James, who had 15 points, and Robin Bailey, who put up eight points.

The win got Blake back to even at 2-2. As for Hillsborough, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Blake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 89-22 defeat against Sickles on the 6th. As for Hillsborough, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-36 victory against Middleton on the 6th.
