Basketball Recap: Vega Comes Up Short

Vega lost against West Texas back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vega Longhorns lost 62-36 to the West Texas Comanches. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1415th, while the Comanches are ranked 427th).

Vega has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 17 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season. As for West Texas, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

Vega will challenge Sanford-Fritch at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for West Texas, they will head out to take on Gruver at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Gruver will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something West Texas surely won't give up without a fight.
