Softball Recap: Cypress Ranch Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cypress Ranch hadn't done well against Bridgeland recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Cypress Ranch narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Bridgeland 10-9. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won four games in a row.

Rylie Tran made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Cypress Ranch got a massive performance out of Rylie Skibbe, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most hits Skibbe has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Naomi Walker, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Cypress Ranch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Cypress Ranch pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Bridgeland, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-9 record.

Cypress Ranch wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-1 loss against Langham Creek on the 25th. As for Bridgeland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-6 win against Cypress Woods on the 25th.
