Del Oro hadn't beaten Whitney on the road since March 30, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Mikayla Finn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Del Oro got a massive performance out of Abby Davidson, who fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 3-for-5. That's the most home runs Davidson has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caelyn Campos, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Davidson wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Del Oro lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whitney didn't launched any home runs.

Meanwhile, Rocklin waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Troubadours.

Cat Alston made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Alston was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Savannah Lorenzini, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Katie Wetteland was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Del Oro's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Rocklin, their record now sits at 13-2.

Del Oro's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Golden Eagles have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Rocklin, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Del Oro continue to outrun the ball?

Del Oro beat Rocklin 6-2 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
