Basketball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Guertin Cardinals. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Bishop Guertin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem has already played their next contest (against Windham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bishop Guertin will host Merrimack at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Merrimack has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with nine straight losses, while Bishop Guertin will come in with four straight wins.
