Softball Recap: Damascus Hornets vs. Paint Branch Panthers
Damascus entered their tilt with Paint Branch with 14 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 15. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Paint Branch Panthers a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. Damascus might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Katie Alexander was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with a home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Falyn Quick, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Damascus' win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Paint Branch, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
