Football Recap: Labette County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Labette County and Bishop Miege squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Labette County had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Stags and fell 37-7. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Grizzlies, who until this matchup were averaging 14.92 points allowed.

Labette County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kegan Bates. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 13.

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Deontae Fields, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Labette County moved to 9-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Bishop Miege, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Labette County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Miege, they will square off against Kapaun Mt. Carmel on Saturday. The Stags will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least 31 points in their last 11 contests.
