Baseball Game Preview: Dr. Krop Lightning vs. South Miami Cobras

For the second straight game, Dr. Krop will face off against South Miami. The Lightning will square off against the Cobras at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.

Dr. Krop came into this matchup off a tough 12-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of South Miami by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lightning have suffered since March 18, 2025.

For South Miami's part, Ivan Mascaro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on zero hits. Mascaro also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Cobras are 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aslerio Machado, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Rodriguez Jake also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
