Basketball Recap: Kayla Munn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Coventry over Woodridge

Coventry managed to keep up with Woodridge until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Coventry Comets came up short against the Woodridge Bulldogs, falling 57-36. The Comets have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Several Comets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayla Munn, who posted 13 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Munn a new career-high in points. Ava Burkhart was another key player, going 5 of 12 en route to 13 points.

Munn wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Coventry was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Woodridge, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-11 record.

Coventry has already played their next match, a 54-27 loss against Field on the 24th. As for Woodridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-27 defeat against Streetsboro on the 24th.
